Any MCP server. Read only.
Some servers have a read-only mode, some don't. I want one switch that works for all of them.
Connect the server to Kin, from the catalog or by its address, and choose Read only. Kin sorts its tools into reads and changes, allows the reads and blocks the changes for every AI app.
Steps checked in Kin on .
Free for 5 connections and 2 AI apps. No card needed.
Set it up
Connect the server
Pick it from Kin's catalog, or paste a remote MCP server's address. Browse services ยท Connect an MCP server
Choose Read only
Open the connection and pick Read only. Under Rules, Reading shows Allow and every action under Changing shows Block.
Check what counts as a change
Kin reads each tool's own hints and description to sort it. If a tool lands in the wrong group, move it, and the level follows. A tool Kin can't place is treated as a change.
Add Kin to your AI apps
Every app you add follows the same level. Add Kin to your AI apps

Enforced by Kin, not by the prompt.
Kin checks the level on its own server before a call reaches the service. A blocked tool isn't offered to the AI app at all, and calling it anyway is refused.
Works beside a server's own mode.
If a service has its own read-only mode or restricted key, use it too. Kin's level adds the same lock to servers that have none, and it holds in every AI app at once.
Questions
Visit the help centerCan I make one tool an exception?
Yes. Set that single action to Allow or Ask me and leave the rest blocked. Allow, ask or block each tool
What if the server adds or changes a tool later?
A new tool starts at the connection's level, so a new change under Read only is blocked. When a server changes a tool that makes changes, an Allow you gave it turns back into Ask me until you review the change, and a Block stays a Block.
Can I turn a server off completely?
Yes. Choose Off and no AI app can use it. Your sign-in stays in Kin.
