Linear in Kin. Every AI app, your rules.

I want Codex to read our Linear issues while it works, without filing or editing anything I haven't seen.

Connect Linear in Kin and sign in. Your AI apps can list and read issues, projects and comments. Saving an issue, comment or document asks you first, and Read only blocks them all.

Steps checked in Kin on .

Free for 5 connections and 2 AI apps. No card needed.

Set it up

  1. Connect Linear

In Kin, open Access, choose Connect a service, pick Linear and sign in. Connect it again for a second workspace. Connections

  2. Pick a level

Keep Ask me for changes, or pick Read only so apps can read and never save. Levels for a connection

  3. Add Kin to your AI apps

Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor or any app that takes a remote MCP server. Each one signs in to Kin, and you choose what it may use. Steps for each app

What your AI apps can do.

Kin listed 70 Linear actions for each workspace on October 31. In Linear's server, one Save action both creates and updates. A few of them:

  • Reads, allowed from the start: List issues, List projects, Get project, List comments, List cycles, List issue labels.
  • Changes, which ask you first: Save issue, Save comment, Save document, Save project, Save issue label.

What we checked.

Our own Kin has two Linear workspaces connected. On October 31, a search for Linear issues and comments returned both accounts and asked which to use. List projects ran as a read, and the Save actions were set to Ask me.

Can I give Codex read-only access to Linear?

Yes. Set the Linear connection to Read only, or choose Can only read when Codex signs in to Kin. The same steps for GitHub

Why does Save ask when the app only edits a comment?

Linear's server uses one Save action to create and to update, so Kin treats both as a change.

Does my AI app get my sign-in?

No. Kin keeps the sign-in and makes each call for the app. The app holds only its own Kin sign-in, which you can remove at any time under AI apps.

Do I need a paid plan?

No. Connecting a service from the catalog, rules, approvals and Activity are on every plan, Free included. Compare plans
