Connect

Manage connections

A connection is one account on one service, with its own label and its own rules. Connect what you need once, and every AI app you allow can use it.

Several accounts on one service

Connect each account separately, such as a work and a personal GitHub. Each becomes its own connection with its own label, account and rules, and the service's card in Connections shows how many accounts it has. When a task could fit more than one account, Kin tells the AI app to ask you which.

To rename one, open the connection's menu and choose Edit label. Set the Label, and say Which account is this? so you and your AI apps can tell them apart.

Set what AI may do

Open a connection to see its actions. Under What AI may do, set a level for all of them or a rule for each one. See Rules.

Pause a connection

Open the connection's menu and choose Pause. No AI app can use it, and its sign-in and rules stay as they are. Choose Resume to turn it back on.

Put a connection on security hold

If something about a connection looks wrong, open its menu and choose Put on security hold. AI apps cannot find or run its actions, nothing reaches the service, and requests that were waiting are refused. Select Release hold when you are ready. Releasing a hold does not approve anything that was refused.

When a service changes its actions

Kin rechecks each remote connection's list of actions about every six hours and keeps a record of what changed. To check at once, choose Check now in the connection's menu. New and changed actions start safe. See New and changed actions start safe.

Remove a connection

Open the connection's menu, choose Remove, then Remove connection. AI apps lose access right away, and its saved sign-in and rules are deleted. An action that is already running may still finish. You can connect the same account again later and set it up from scratch.

Profiles

A profile groups connections for one context, such as Work or a client. Open Profiles and select New profile, give it a Name, and choose the Connections in it. You can have up to 20 profiles.

Each profile has its own Profile address for AI apps, in the form https://app.kinlab.ai/mcp/p/ followed by a short form of the profile's name. An AI app you add with that address reaches only that profile's connections. You can also limit an AI app to some profiles from AI apps. See What each AI app may use.

An AI app can propose creating a profile or changing which connections are in it. Nothing changes until you approve.

When a connection stops working

A sign-in can expire or be revoked at the service. Kin marks the connection, and AI apps are told it needs you. Open the connection's menu and choose Sign in again, or Replace the key for a connection that uses one. AI apps can also ask Kin whether each connection works for them, and why not.

If a service itself misbehaves, choose Report a problem with this service in the connection's menu.
