Kin docs
Get started with Kin
Connect what you use, choose what AI may do with it, and add Kin to the AI apps you already have. The first run takes a few minutes.
Create your account
Go to app.kinlab.ai.
Sign up with Google, GitHub or your email address.
Kin is not an AI assistant. You keep the AI apps and subscriptions you already have, and Kin sits between them and the things you connect.
Connect something
Open Connections and select Add a connection.
Pick a service and sign in to it, or paste the address of any MCP server. You can also build a connection from an API's OpenAPI document.
Give the connection a label you will recognize, such as Work GitHub, if you connect more than one account on the same service.
To try Kin before you connect a real account, open Try it and select Try an Ask me change. Kin adds its practice account and asks it to add a note, so you can see an approval with nothing at stake. The note stays in Kin.
Every way to connect is on Connect anything.
Choose what AI may do
Each action on a connection has a rule. Allow runs it, Ask me waits for your approval, and Block stops it. Open a connection to set a level for all of its actions at once, such as Ask me, where reads run and every change asks you first. Then change single actions whenever you like. See Rules.
Add Kin to an AI app
Every AI app uses one address:
https://app.kinlab.ai/mcpOpen the guide for your app, follow its steps, and sign in to Kin when the app asks. You choose what the app may use before you approve. See Add Kin to your AI apps.
Try it
In your AI app, ask for something that uses a connection, such as "find my open issues in Linear" or "add a practice note in Kin".
If the action is set to Ask me, Kin shows the request in Tasks, with the account, the action and exactly what the app wants to send.
Select Approve once or Deny. The app gets the result, or your answer, and carries on.
Open Activity to see every call each AI app made and how it ended.
Where things are
Kin's sidebar has:
- Home, with your setup checklist.
- Tasks, with the requests and questions waiting for you.
- Activity, with every call your AI apps made and how it ended.
- Connections, AI apps, Profiles and Rules, for your setup.
- Audit log, with the changes made to your workspace.
- Try it, Downloads and Settings. Settings has four pages: Account, Workspace, AI apps and approvals, and Data and audit.
Stop everything at once
Select Pause to stop every AI app from using Kin until you resume. You can also make every change ask first while reads keep running, or pause a single app. See Pause.
