Add Kin to your AI apps
Add Kin to Claude
claude.ai and the Claude desktop app. Give Claude one address, sign in to Kin, and it can use the accounts you connect, under your rules.
Before you start
- Create a Kin account at app.kinlab.ai and connect at least one account. See Get started.
- Kin's address for every AI app is
https://app.kinlab.ai/mcp. A profile has its own address, shown on the profile. See Profiles. - Signing in is the recommended way. Use a token only when the app cannot sign in. You create one in Kin under AI apps, with Connect an AI app and then Paste a token (advanced), and Kin shows it once.
In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors.
Select + Add, then Add custom connector.
Enter a name, such as Kin. Paste this as the remote MCP server URL, then select Continue:
https://app.kinlab.ai/mcpClaude shows the authentication settings it found. Select Continue if it asks. Set Authentication to Sign in now and OAuth client to Register automatically, then select Add.
Claude opens a Kin sign-in window. Choose what Claude may use, then approve.
To use it in a chat, select the + button at the lower left, then Connectors, and turn on Kin.
Use a token instead
Replace YOUR_TOKEN with the token you created in Kin under AI apps. See Sign in, or use a token.
In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors. Select + Add, then Add custom connector.
Enter a name. Paste this as the remote MCP server URL, then select Continue:
https://app.kinlab.ai/mcpSet Authentication to No sign in. Under Request headers, add a header named Authorization with this value:
Bearer YOUR_TOKENSelect Add.
Good to know
- Custom request headers are a beta that only some organizations have. Sign in instead unless the dialog shows a Request headers section.
- On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner adds the connector in Organization settings under Connectors: Add, then Custom, then Web. Each person then selects Connect under Customize, Connectors.
- Free Claude accounts can add one custom connector.
- You cannot change how a connector signs in after adding it. Remove it and add it again.
- A connector you add on the web or in the desktop app also works in the Claude apps for iOS and Android.
After you connect
Ask the app to do something with an account you connected, such as "list my open Linear issues". The app searches Kin for a matching action and runs it if your rule allows it. An action set to Ask me waits for you. See Approvals and questions.
To change what this app may use, open AI apps in Kin. See What each AI app may use.
How we checked this guide
These steps follow Claude Help Center as of October 13, 2026. We have not run every step.
Anthropic says the Add custom connector dialog varies between organizations. An older one-screen version keeps the OAuth client fields under Advanced settings; leave them empty there.
