Two GitHub accounts in Cursor.

Cursor has one place for MCP servers. I want my work GitHub and my personal one in there, and I don't want to swap tokens in a JSON file.

Put Kin in Cursor's mcp.json with no token, and sign in once. Connect both GitHub accounts in Kin, each with its own level. Cursor's agent sees both by name and is told to ask which one when either would do.

Set it up

  1. Add Kin to Cursor

    Open ~/.cursor/mcp.json, or .cursor/mcp.json in one project, and add Kin under mcpServers. Keep any servers already there. Cursor setup

    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "kin": {
          "url": "https://app.kinlab.ai/mcp"
        }
      }
    }
  2. Sign in

    Restart Cursor and sign in when it asks, or run agent mcp login kin with Cursor's CLI. Kin starts Cursor read only, so choose Can read and change if it should ask you about changes on the personal account.

  3. Connect both GitHub accounts in Kin

    Connect GitHub twice, once per account, and set a level on each: Read only for work, Ask me for changes for personal. Several accounts on one service

  4. Check that Cursor sees Kin

    With Cursor's CLI, list Kin's tools. You should see five: search, describe, read, execute and feedback.

    agent mcp list-tools kin

One entry in mcp.json. Every account behind it.

Cursor holds one Kin sign-in, never a GitHub token. Connect a third account, or another service, in Kin and Cursor has it on its next search, with nothing to edit in the file.

What we checked.

Cursor's CLI 2026.10.22 loaded Kin from a project's mcp.json and listed its five tools. Cursor's agent didn't run the task on October 31, so the same calls ran through an MCP client signed in to Kin as Cursor.

A search for issues returned List issues on GitHub (work) and on GitHub (personal), with a note to ask which. List issues ran on the work account. Commenting was offered only on the personal account, set to ask first. Nothing was posted.

Does Cursor's own GitHub sign-in change?

No. Kin covers the calls Cursor's agent makes through Kin. Cursor's own GitHub sign-in and the account git pushes with are set in Cursor and on your computer.

Can I keep the personal account out of one project?

Yes. Put each account in its own Kin profile and use that profile's address in the project's .cursor/mcp.json. Profiles
