Integrations

GitHub in Kin. Every AI app, your rules.

I want Claude, Codex and Cursor to use my GitHub without each one holding a token, and without any of them merging on its own.

Connect GitHub in Kin and sign in. Kin uses GitHub's own MCP server, lets your AI apps read, and asks you before any change. Add one address to each app.

Steps checked in Kin on .

Free for 5 connections and 2 AI apps. No card needed.

Set it up

  1. Connect GitHub

In Kin, open Access, choose Connect a service, pick GitHub and sign in. Kin names the connection after your GitHub account. Connections

  2. Pick a level

A new connection is Ask me for changes. Pick Read only to block every change, or set single actions, such as Block on Merge pull request. Levels for a connection

  3. Add Kin to your AI apps

Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor or any app that takes a remote MCP server. Each one signs in to Kin, and you choose what it may use. Steps for each app

What your AI apps can do.

Kin listed 51 GitHub actions on October 31: 30 reads and 21 changes. A few of them, from the two lists:

  • Reads, allowed from the start: List issues, Search code, Get file or directory contents, List pull requests, Get commit details, Get GitHub Actions workflow job logs, List releases.
  • Changes, which ask you first: Open new pull request, Merge pull request, Add comment to issue or pull request, Push files to repository, Create branch, Trigger GitHub Actions workflow actions, Delete file.

What we checked.

We connected GitHub to a test Kin, set it to Read only, and signed Claude Code in. Claude Code listed open issues in a public repository. When we asked it to comment, Kin offered no action that could, and nothing was posted.

Connecting GitHub a second time, as another account, made a second connection with its own rules. Two GitHub accounts in one AI app

Which GitHub server does Kin use?

GitHub's own remote MCP server. Kin adds the sign-in, your rules and the record of each call.

Can I use a work and a personal GitHub account?

Yes. Each account is its own connection with its own level, and an app that could use either asks you which. Two GitHub accounts

Can an AI app delete a file?

Only if you approve it. No level allows deletes on its own.

Does my AI app get my sign-in?

No. Kin keeps the sign-in and makes each call for the app. The app holds only its own Kin sign-in, which you can remove at any time under AI apps.

Do I need a paid plan?

No. Connecting a service from the catalog, rules, approvals and Activity are on every plan, Free included. Compare plans
